1. Overview

Pashabook ("we", "our", "the app") is an AI-powered narrated storybook video app for parents and guardians. This policy explains what personal data we collect, why we collect it, and how we protect it.

2. Data We Collect

• Account information: email address, display name, and sign-in identifier used to create your account.
• Child profile information: optional nickname, gender, and birth year/month that you enter to personalize a story.
• Drawings and photos: original images you upload or photograph, plus optional title, artist name, and memo. Growth drawings and images selected for book creation are uploaded to cloud storage. The free plan allows up to 20 drawings and paid plans up to 200; each image can be up to 10 MB. Drawings saved locally by older app versions remain on their original device.
• Story inputs and outputs: language, book size, story style, child nicknames, job status, story text, illustrations, generated narration audio, video, and related metadata.
• Content reports: the reported story reference, optional page number, selected reason, and submission time, linked to the signed-in account while the account exists. Authorized staff can view the reported page text and illustration to review the report.
• Optional voice memos: recordings, duration, and creation time. Voice memos are stored only on your device and are not uploaded.
• Daily reminders are scheduled locally on your device. The setting is currently hidden; a reminder enabled earlier may remain scheduled. This release does not obtain or send remote push tokens to our backend. Tokens submitted by previous app versions may remain in existing profile records and are no longer used.
• Purchases and subscriptions: RevenueCat and Apple/Google billing identifiers, product, entitlement, subscription status, and transaction-related information used to provide and restore paid plans. We do not receive your full payment card details.
• Diagnostics: if Sentry is enabled for the build, error reports, logs, session/performance diagnostics, device/platform information, release information, and a pseudonymous account identifier may be collected. For Sentry error events, email-like text and fields named for email, username, password, token, secret, credential, authorization, or cookie are filtered before sending, and the user IP field is removed. Other free text, including names entered by users, is not automatically identified, so we avoid including user-provided text in error context.

3. How We Use Your Data

• To turn an uploaded drawing into a narrated storybook video, including story text, illustrations, narration audio, and video.
• To store an optional voice memo on your device so you can play it back or attach it to a drawing in the app.
• To store, display, and download completed storybooks, and to share an exported video through your device's system share sheet when you choose.
• To receive and review content reports for safety and service quality.
• To let you schedule an optional daily drawing reminder on your device.
• To provide, restore, and manage subscriptions and paid-plan access.
• To enforce per-user rate limits, protect the service, troubleshoot failures, and improve reliability.

4. AI & Third-Party Services

We use the following services to process your data:
• AWS AI services — analyze drawings and generate story text.
• Google Cloud AI services — receive the drawing, character descriptions, and scene prompts to generate illustrations and, when enabled for a paid storybook, video cut-ins.
• Amazon Polly — receives generated story titles and narration text to create read-aloud audio.
• Amazon Cognito — manages sign-in and account authentication.
• Amazon S3 — stores uploaded drawings, illustrations, narration audio, videos, and other storybook assets.
• Amazon DynamoDB — stores account, child-profile, drawing, job, subscription-plan, and content-report metadata.
• Amazon SQS and AWS Lambda — process storybook generation jobs.
• RevenueCat — connects in-app purchases and subscription status with Apple App Store or Google Play billing.
• Sentry — receives diagnostics only when a build has Sentry configured.

When you create a storybook, AWS AI services receive the drawing, optional title, selected language and book size, optional style, and selected child nickname or artist name. Google Cloud AI services receive the drawing, character descriptions, and illustration scene prompts. Amazon Polly receives the generated title and narration text. Amazon S3 stores the original drawing and finished storybook files. A child's age and gender are not included in the story-generation request.

Optional daily reminders are scheduled on your device and are not sent to these services. User-recorded voice memos are also not sent to these services, our backend, or any AI provider; they remain on the device. Other app data is processed primarily in the AWS Asia Pacific (Tokyo) region. Some generation and diagnostics services may process data in other regions under their respective terms. We do not sell your personal data.

5. Data Retention

Original drawings saved in your drawing library and associated metadata are retained until you delete the drawing or your account. Drawings saved in your cloud library remain until you delete them or your account. Drawings saved locally by older app versions remain on this device until you delete them, delete your account in the app, or uninstall the app. They are not synced to other devices. Voice memos remain on the device until you delete them, log out, or delete the account from the app. Free-plan generation jobs and their generated assets are configured to expire after 90 days. Paid-plan generation jobs and assets do not have that automatic expiry and are retained until you delete them or your account. Content report metadata is scheduled to expire 90 days after submission, or earlier if the reporting account is deleted. Job metadata follows the same retention policy where applicable. Sentry and RevenueCat may retain their own records under their respective policies.

6. Children's Privacy

Pashabook accounts are created and operated by adult parents or guardians; children do not create or operate accounts. A parent or guardian may enter optional child profile details, such as a nickname, gender, and birth year/month, to personalize a story. We do not knowingly collect personal data directly from children under 13. If a parent or guardian records a child's voice, they are responsible for having the appropriate permission and for confirming the recording in the app. Voice memos remain on the device and are not sent to us. If you believe a child has provided personal data to us, please contact us and we will delete it promptly.

7. Your Rights

You may delete your account at any time from Settings → Delete Account, or follow the instructions at https://pashabook.kumagaias.com/account-deletion. The app requests deletion of your Amazon Cognito account, profile, child profiles, drawings, generation jobs, associated stored assets, content reports submitted by that account, and local voice memos. Subscription cancellation is separate: cancel an active subscription through the App Store or Google Play. RevenueCat, Apple, Google, Sentry, and other service providers may retain records required for security, fraud prevention, accounting, or legal obligations under their own policies.

8. Security

All data sent to our services is transmitted over HTTPS. Voice memos are stored in the app's private device storage and are not transmitted. Access to your account and private storybooks is protected by Amazon Cognito. Generated files are served through time-limited signed URLs. When you share an exported storybook video through your device's system share sheet, the app you choose receives the video file and handles it under its own terms and privacy practices. Pashabook does not publish public share links.

9. Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy from time to time. We will notify you of significant changes through the app.
